This month was a month of War! As we entered March our boxes MARCHED into your homes and invaded your imaginations (see what we did there?)
With ‘War’ being a fairly broad theme it was easy to decide the overall genre of miniatures and war-games systems. What could be bigger than the biggest and most dramatic war known to mankind? Why World War II of course!
With so many World War themed miniatures to offer it was a fairly difficult box to plan, the majority are wargamers after all so the chances of you already knowing about these products were high however we chose to feature a well-known Game System to you as they are one of the biggest and most popular game systems for World War II, Warlord Games’ Bolt Action.
“Bolt Action is the leading 28mm World War II tabletop wargame, using miniature soldiers, tanks and terrain to fight battles in the shattered towns of occupied France, the frozen steppes of Russia or even the sweltering jungles of the Pacific.”
In Bolt Action, you get to build, paint and equip your troops and have a fun game with as a little as a squad or two and relive some of the most brutal and dramatic battles in history.
We decided to feature some of ‘Bolt Actions’ most popular HQ choices to either bolster your existing army or act as the starting point for a future collection!
You will have received either:
Our personal favourite are the German High Command models, the idea of High Command planning daring and cunning strategies to gain victory makes for a great diorama or even an objective marker!
What’s a war without tanks? That’s why we also included an expansion kit for the World War II skirmish game ‘Tanks’ by GaleForce Nine.
“Tanks: Panther vs Sherman is an easy-to-learn, quick play, small-scale game in which you take command of a tank platoon, seeking to destroy your opponent's tanks and secure victory. Tanks is a flexible game with lots of ways to create a finely-tuned army that fits your play style. In a half-hour, you can pick your tanks and crew, upgrade them to your specifications, defeat your enemy (or die trying), and be ready for the rematch!”
Below you will see one of the expansion kits you may have received in your War box.
But that’s not all!
You would have also received these awesome bullet shaped Team Yankee or Colours of War bottles of paint too! They were too cool not to put in the box!
You would have also received a dry brush from our friends at Rosemary & Co which we love (it has our name on it!)
One of our favourite items in this box would have been the resin Foxhole from Javis Manufacturing. These highly detailed foxholes can be used perfectly as terrain in your wargames or combined with your Bolt-Action minis to become a little diorama!
Below you will see some of the variations of the Foxholes:
We hope you loved the War Model Box as much as we do and hope you look forward to April’s ‘Bombshells’ box which celebrates some of the best female miniatures we can get our hands on along with other cool items and accessories for all your wargaming and painting needs!
Until next time fellow hobbyists!
